Taking inspiration from the Bleu de Chine workwear unifom is our latest product offering, the LD Filou Jacket, this time in Chai. This iconic article of clothing traces its roots from ancient work clothing in the Chinese countryside, and was widely used for its sturdiness and practical design. Together with other Chinese exports it found its way into the large port cities of the West, particularly in the Mediterranean where it soon became adopted as workwear of dockers, fishermen, and farmers. It became very popular and spread across other parts of Europe and the Middle East, and found its way to Paris and the fashion world as a symbol of the anti-establishment.
Instead of the typical blue, this particular offering is in Chai, This 84% cotton/16% linen blend fabric from Collect Japan comes in a comfortable, lightweight, and breezy 6.5 oz Filou Jacket is made of 8 oz. indigo-dyed poplin from Collect Japan which guarantees that it willtake on its worn character over time. As in the traditional version, it comes with a Peter Pan collar, 5 frog buttons in the pankou style (likewise handmade by us, of course), 3 front patch pockets, and for good measure the armpits construction is reinforced.
This is a piece that one doesn't see very often - grab your chance to own a little piece of clothing design history.
A very unique garment that will surely stand out in your wardrobe. Sizing chart in last panel, for reference.
